Frequently Asked Questions

How much does it cost to charter a yacht in Boston?
Private luxury yacht charters aboard Into the Mystic start at $1,395 for a two-hour cruise and scale up based on duration, departure location, and season. Every charter is fully private for up to six guests — never shared — and includes a USCG Master Captain, fuel, ice, and drinkware. Captain Marianne confirms availability before any deposit is taken; see Ways to Cruise for full pricing on each experience.
When are you available?
We operate Memorial Day through Columbus Day, weather permitting. Peak sunset season runs late June through early September. Dates fill quickly, so we recommend inquiring two to three weeks in advance.
What should I bring?
Dress in comfortable layers and bring a light jacket or windbreaker. Non-marking, non-slip shoes are required; high heels and black-soled shoes are not allowed on deck. Bare feet are welcome. Sunscreen (non-oily), sunglasses, a hat, and a phone or camera are recommended. Guests are welcome to bring their own food, wine, beer, cocktails, and non-alcoholic beverages aboard — we provide ice, drinkware, and chilled storage. Not allowed- pets, children under 10, vaping or smoking products, spray sunscreen that can stain decks, and anything that could mark or damage the boat.
What if I'm prone to seasickness?
If you know you are prone to motion sickness, consider an over-the-counter remedy such as Dramamine or Bonine, and take it as directed on the package before boarding. Do eat a light meal beforehand, stay hydrated, get fresh air, and keep your eyes on the horizon. Don't drink heavily, read or stare at screens, stay below deck in a hot or enclosed space, or eat a heavy, greasy meal right before boarding. If you feel unwell, tell the Captain immediately — the crew can adjust the route or return to port for your safety.
What about safety and USCG requirements?
Into the Mystic is operated by a USCG Master Captain and meets all Coast Guard safety standards. Properly sized life jackets, required fire extinguishers, visual distress signals, a first-aid kit, and a VHF radio are carried on board for every guest and voyage. The Captain has final authority over weather, route, and guest safety, and the crew provides a brief pre-departure safety overview so everyone knows what to expect.
What if the weather is poor?
Safety comes first. If conditions do not allow us to sail, we will reschedule or adjust the itinerary. If neither works, we refund in full — your choice.
What is your weather & cancellation policy?
If seas are rough or conditions are unsafe, the Captain will decide whether to delay, adjust the route, or return to port. When a charter is cancelled due to weather, you can reschedule for the next available date at no extra charge, or receive a full refund. Guests may also cancel up to 48 hours before departure and reschedule once; cancellations within 48 hours are reviewed on a case-by-case basis depending on weather and rebooking potential.
Is there a restroom on board?
Yes — Into the Mystic has a clean, private head (restroom) for guest use during your charter.
Can I bring pets or young children?
For the comfort and safety of all guests, we do not allow pets or children under age 10 aboard Into the Mystic.
Can we drink alcohol on the charter?
Guests of legal age are welcome to bring their own wine, beer, or cocktails. Please drink responsibly and be aware that the Captain has the final authority to return to port if intoxication, unsafe behavior, or any situation that endangers guests, crew, or the vessel occurs.
